Mazda CX-60 review (2023)

In their own words

The CX60 plug in hybrid is an interesting car that is full of character and different to the usual German SUVs (in a good way). Very agile for its size with great steering and rather fast with relatively low running costs. The interior is spacious and classy with easy to operate controls. Electric engine is powerful enough for that daily drive while "sport mode" transforms the car into a sporty beast with a nice sound track (for an inline four). Technology is top notch with excellent high speed refinement and overall it is a very enjoyable car to drive. Electric only range of 35 miles is easily achievable in the summer while motorway fuel consumption with an empty battery is 38-40 mpg, giving a range of over 400 miles (fuel tank is 50L including reserve).
Areas to improve upon include low speed ride (far from harsh but can be better), more lateral support for the driver's seat (for those sporty drives) and the ability to permanently turn off driver assistant tech (I am old fashioned). If I am super critical, I find the first gear to be unnecessarily too short but this may come handy during light off roading.

In summary, the Mazda CX60 SUV is fast, classy, spacious, sporty and enjoyable to drive with a unique character. Do not believe some of those negative reviews - drive one and decide for yourself (which is what I have done).
